Had two of the more expensive maintenance done to the GLI today. The timing belt and DSG trans flush.
When doing a timing belt on a VW/Audi (as well as some other makes) its common to also replace the water pump. Other pieces such as rollers also are needed. Its a lot more than just replacing as belt, lots need to be taken off just to get it off properly.
DSG trans is also a special beast. It needs very specific oil and also a computer with software or VAS to hook up to the car for a proper flush. I actually did this one last time it needed it, just don’t have the garage to do it currently. Also a filter should be replaced at the same time.
Standard oil change was also completed.
