A flat and two new tires

Miles: 136841

Hit a pothole with only the rear driver side wheel. The wheel was kind enough to get me home safely before it showed signs of problem and promptly deflated in the driveway.

Looking at it the sidewalls were all screwed up and bubbling so no chance in saving it. Luckily this was one of my older Yokohama S.Drives that needed to be replaced anyways. I replaced the two older tired and rotated the new pair to the front. The new tires are Bridgestone Potenza RE97AS, its an all season tire not summer. I went this route in preparation of selling the car in a year from now for the 2015 Golf R. The last pair of S.Drives will have to be replaced around this time next year so I will just replace it with another set of Potenza RE97AS’s.

Its been a while since I have had a non-ultra high performance tire. Lot less road noise and more cushy, I sure dont drive the car in a manner that warrants those performance tires. So far im liking them, the sidewalls have held well so I really cant complain.
