GTI passenger rear brake light bulb

Got an alert today saying “Check right brake light/turn signal” on my infotainment screen when driving to work this morning. I put on the hazards and sure enough the passenger rear brake light bulb was flickering. I had a while ago won some deautokey LED’s for the taillights. This one happened to be malfunctioning.

I purchased some “Sylvania 7440 High Performance White ZEVO LED Mini Bulbs” and replaced it resolving the issue. The new bulbs are brighter but more washed out in red color. The bulb resolved the issue with the flickering so it was the previous LED that failed.
